Paramore - Brand New Eyes

Brand New Eyes (Typeset as brand new eyes) is the third studio album from alternative rock band Paramore. It was recorded in the Hidden Hills of California from January to March and was produced by Rob Cavallo The title "Brand New Eyes" was based on a track that was later cut from the album and means "seeing everything in a whole new perspective". The first single from the album was "Ignorance" which became available via digital download on July 7, on the same date the album became available for preorder on paramore.net. 'Brick by Boring Brick' will be the expected second single from the album. Officially, the album name is "brand new eyes," with no capitalisation. Lead singer Heyley Williams has stated that this is because of her failure to ever use capitalisation when typing on the computer. Two versions of the album will be available; a standard CD edition as well as a limited edition deluxe package which will have a limited release of 15,000 copies and include the album on CD, a 40-page hardcover journal, Hayley Williams’ handwritten lyrics and notes on the album, a colour vinyl 7” single with two acoustic songs and a DVD featuring an exclusive 'making-of' documentary.

Recording.

The band had hoped to be able to record the album in their home of Nashville, Tennessee, but this became impossible. This initially was upsetting, but the band have since admitted that it was for the best. Producer Rob Cavallo's house and the surrounding area were used to create various webisodes the band posted on their website.

Paramore faced time pressure recording Brand New Eyes, unlike its predecessor Riot!. This was because the band was signed on to open for rock/ska band, No Doubt's summer reunion tour.

Tour.

Paramore have announced that they are going on tour on their official site, with The Swellers and Paper Route joining them as opening acts. The tour will begin in Pomona, California on September 29, 2009 (the day of the album's release.)

Movie Review : 13 Going On 30

this is actually an old movie , released at 2004 , but I have just watched it yesterday at Star Movies . I think it's a nice movie :)

13 Going On 30 (known as Suddenly 30 in Australia) is a 2004 comedy film starring Jennifer Garner. It has a similar premise to the films Wish Upon A Star, and Freaky Friday, in which girls' souls were swapped into different bodies, as well as the classic short story, Rip Van Winkle, in which a young person who fells asleep and wakes up many years later as an older person. Unlike the movies Big, "Vice Versa", and "14 Going On 30" (1988), in which boys were physically transformed into adult men, in this movie a 13 year old girl appears to skip 17 years of her life, and wakes up as a successful magazine editor in the future. It was produced by Revolution Studios for Columbia Pictures.

Plot

Jenna Rink (Jennifer Garner), a girl celebrating her 13th birthday in 1987, wishes to be 30 in hopes that it would help her overcome her unpopularity at school. Jenna especially wants to join the "Six Chicks", a school clique led by Lucy "Tom-Tom" Wyman (Judy Greer), who takes advantage of Jenna's desire to fit in by manipulating her. Jenna's best friend, Matt Flamhaff (Mark Ruffalo), gives her a doll dream house he built for her and a packet of "magic wishing dust" for her birthday, which is sprinkled on the roof of the house.

Tom-Tom dashes Jenna's hopes of joining the Six Chicks by pulling a cruel prtical jokes on her during a game of "Seven Minutes in HJ". Jenna, mistakenly thinking Matt was responsible, gets angry with him and barricades herself in the closet where she put the Dream House. She cries and rocks backs and forth, bumping into the wall, wishing to be "Thirty, flirty, and thriving". The wishing dust from the dollhouse sprinkles on her, and seconds later, Jenna awakens as a 30-year-old woman living in a Fifth Avenue apartment, without her friends or family. It is now 2004, but Jenna has no memory of the 17 years that have passed since her 13th birthday.

30-year-old Jenna's new best friend Lucy (no longer nicknamed Tom-Tom) drives her to her work office. Soon, Jenna discovers she works for Poise, her favorite fashion magazine when she was a teenager. Missing her best friend from 1987, Jenna asks her assistant to track down Matt. To her dismay, Jenna learns she and "Matty" have been estranged sincewhen Jenna fell in with the in-crowd, and that Matt is now engaged.

This is complicated by the fact that Jenna has become a shadow of her former self. She has lost almost all contact with her parents, and she is having an affair with Tracy from the art department's husband. Not only is she generally despised by her co-workers, she is suspected of giving her magazine's ideas to a rival publication, Sparkle. Jenna slowly realizes that the person she has become is neither trustworthy nor likeable, and unknowingly begins to reverse the situation by distancing herself from her new, shallow boyfriend, acting kinder and more honest to her co-workers and friends, and trying to restore her relationship with Matt.

After Jenna overhears Lucy badmouthing her to a co-worker, she sadly realizes that what she thought she wanted wasn't important after all. She heads back to her hometown in New Jersey to reunite with her parents and reminisce by looking through school yearbooks and other items from her school days. These inspire her on her return to Manhattan. Over several outings and working together on a magazine project, Jenna becomes friends with Matt again. Although Matt is engaged and Jenna has a boyfriend, they kiss during a nighttime walk. Dazed, Matt realizes he loves Jenna, but cannot change the past.

After arranging a magazine photo shoot with Matt, then making a successful presentation for a planned revamp for Poise, Jenna prepares for the revamp when she gets bad news from the publisher: Poise is shutting down because the work she put into the relaunch ended up in Sparkle. Jenna learns she was responsible for sabotaging Poise from within by sending their material to Sparkle for months. When Lucy learns this, she cons Matt into signing over the photo rights from the relaunch shoot to her. She accepts the position of Sparkle editor-in-chief, using Jenna's work as her own, similar to what she did when the girls were in high school.

When an already-distraught Jenna discovers Matt is getting married that day, she rushes to his house and begs him to call off the wedding. Matt cannot say yes, although he tells Jenna he loves her. From his closet, he pulls the "dream house" he made 17 years before and gives it back to her. Jenna leaves in tears, crying over the dream house and wishing she could return to 1987.

Unbeknownst to Jenna, specks of wishing dust remain on the dream house, and her wish is granted. Thirteen again, she kisses Matt, confronts the snobby Lucy ("Tom-Tom"), tears up the homework Lucy had manipulated her into writing, and spills juice over Lucy's outfit before happily leading Matt away.

At a future date (presumably 2004), the adult Jenna and Matt emerge as newlyweds and move into a home identical to the dream house Matt built when Jenna was 13—sharing a packet of their favorite childhood candy, Razzles.

P'unk~En~Ciel

P'unk~En~Ciel , maybe you've heard about them . but who are they exactly ?
here is my explanation .....

P'unk-en-Ciel (パンク アン シエル panku an shieru) is an alter ego of L'Arc~en~Ciel. Introduced in 2004, Hyde takes over guitar, Ken the drums, Yukihiro plays the bass, while Tetsu performs the vocals. P'unk~en~Ciel's songs have a more punk sound and their music is usually heavier and faster with a different tone due to Tetsu's vocals. Hyde wears a pirate patch over his left eye in P'unk~en~Ciel performances. Yukihiro is known to wear a gas mask; however, this has only been seen once at a live concert during their Smile tour in 2004.

Each member is called in capital letters Tetsu P'unk, Ken P'unk, Hyde P'unk and Yuki P'unk. Each member produces one song of their choice, and they alternate their productions.

P'unk~en~Ciel is the revision of D'ark~en~Ciel, the former being a special event that took place during the early L'Arc~en~Ciel years when Sakura was the drummer. The only material released from them is the 18-minute B-side "D'ark~en~Ciel" found on the (then) unreleased The Fourth Avenue Cafe single.

Their songs are recorded and used as B-sides on singles from 2004 and their performances can be found as extras on Live DVDs. They also featured television personality Sayaka Aoki with their song "Round and Round 2005"

PERFORMED SONGS

Their recorded versions are:

  • "Milky Way" found on the "Jiyuu e no Shoutai" single (Produced by Hyde P'unk).
  • "Round and Round 2005" found on the "Killing Me" single (Produced by Ken P'unk).
  • "Kasou Heisei 17 Nen" (Flower Burial 2005) found on the "New World" single (Produced by Hyde P'unk).
  • "Heaven's Drive 2005" found on the "Jojoushi" single (Produced by Yuki P'unk).
  • "Promised Land 2005" found on the "Link" single (Produced by Tetsu P'unk).
  • "Honey 2007" found on the "Seventh Heaven" single (Produced by Ken P'unk).
  • "Feeling Fine 2007" found on the "My Heart Draws A Dream" single (Produced by Yuki P'unk).
  • "Natsu no Yuutsu (夏の憂鬱) [Sea in Blood 2007]" found on the "Daybreak's Bell" single (Produced by Hyde P'unk).
  • "I Wish 2007" found on the "Hurry Xmas" single (Produced by Tetsu P'unk - it also has a PV).
  • "Dune 2008" found on the "Drink It Down" single (Produced by Ken P'unk).

P'unk~en~Ciel can be seen on live on:

  • Smile Tour 2004 DVD performing "Milky Way".
  • Asialive 2005 DVD performing "Round and Round 2005".
  • Are You Ready? 2007 Mata Heart ni Hi wo Tsukero! (またハートに火をつけろ!) DVD performing "Honey 2007" and "Feeling Fine 2007".
  • Tour 2007-2008 Theater of Kiss DVD performing "Natsu no Yuutsu (夏の憂鬱) [Sea in Blood 2007]" and "I Wish 2007".

Lacuna Coil : Shallow Life

Shallow Life is the fifth album by Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil. The album was released on April 20, 2009 in Europe and the 21st in North America.

The album was recorded in autumn 2008 at a studio in Los Angeles with producer Don Gilmore. According to magazine Rock Sound the album would have some Arabic influences. Scabbia noted that the album "feels more rock" and that it is "the perfect mixture between our old European sound and something more modern...some of its very heavy. The most amazing this is, we've been able to improve everything about Lacuna Coil without taking away anything good or doing something that doesn't belong." Shallow Life is reportedly set to be the band's first concept album, containing references toward superficial lifestyles in the world today. The song "Spellbound" was debuted live at the Soundwave Music Festival in February 2009. The song "Not Enough" was released as a free download on the Italian Music website XL with the backstage of Spellbound video on 1 April 2009. In the beginning of April the song I’m Not Afraid was released as airplay on Russian radios.

On the 8th April, Lacuna Coil posted all 12 tracks from their album to listen to on their MySpace profile page for one week only.

On the 14th April, the band created a poll on their MySpace profile for fans to choose the second single, involving nine songs from Shallow Life.

Initial reviews have been mixed. Kerrang! magazine gave it three out of five, stating: "It may not stand along Karmacode in ten years' time...but it is an album for today." 411mania states that the band's dramatic departure from their signature heavy guitar riffs and deep and impactful lyrics in favor of a new simple musical and lyrical approach is a "step back" in comparison to their previous albums.
